Independent consultancy for energy, engineering and project-based businesses

Your business has changed. The way it runs needs to keep up.

I am Mwata Belgrave. I help leaders of mid-sized companies work through growth, a change of direction or pressure to reduce costs. I help you decide what to change, clarify who is responsible for what, and turn the decisions into a plan your team can follow.

From business direction to everyday decisions

A changing market, new management and a recovery agenda called for a clear plan for the next phase of the business.

Working with management and the group board, my contribution covered strategy, the organisation, budgets and capacity, alongside project control and commercial decisions. I also supported newly appointed managers as they took on their responsibilities.

Where I can help

Does any of this sound familiar?

You may already know what needs to change. The difficulty is finding the time, making the choices and getting the organisation to work differently.

We've grown, but too much still depends on the same few people.

Decisions wait, key people are constantly interrupted and new managers are unsure what they can decide. I help clarify responsibilities and set up routines that suit a larger business.

Organisation and management support

The workload has changed. Our cost base hasn't.

The structure was built for a different order book or market, and you must adapt without losing skills you will need again. I help compare workload, capacity and costs, weigh the options and plan the changes with your management team.

Adapting the organisation

We have a new direction, but everyday decisions haven't changed.

Priorities compete, budgets follow the old plan and people are unsure what the new direction means for them. I help turn strategic choices into a plan with clear responsibilities and follow-up.

Strategy into action

We're busy, but we cannot clearly see our margins or cash position.

Scope changes go unpriced, forecasts arrive late and completed work can wait too long to be billed. I help strengthen project control and reporting, so you can see where performance is changing and act on it.

Project and commercial performance

We need better systems, but can't afford to disrupt the business.

Teams rely on separate spreadsheets and disagree about what a new system should do, and the people needed are already busy. I help prepare the business and lead its side of selection and implementation.

AI could help, but we need to know where to start.

Your specialists spend time searching for information and repeating work. You want to know where AI could help and how to judge the result. I help identify useful uses and plan a manageable first test with your team.

Practical AI advice

Working together

Start with the decision or difficulty in front of you.

Tell me what has changed, where the business is getting stuck and what you need to decide. We can start with a conversation to understand the situation and whether my experience is relevant.

If there is a useful next step, I will propose a scope, the people involved and what the work should produce. We agree the approach and fees before starting.

Independent advice

An independent sounding board for managing directors and management teams. I help you test assumptions, work through difficult choices and prepare for important discussions.

A defined assignment

Focused work on a specific need, such as an organisation review, a business plan, better project reporting, an ERP selection or an AI opportunity assessment.

Interim support

Additional management capacity to help lead and carry through change. We agree responsibilities and the mix of remote and on-site work around the assignment.

I work across Europe in English and Dutch.

What needs to change in your business?

You do not need a finished brief. A few lines about the situation and the decision ahead are enough to start.
